  to fund medical research to find an effective treatment to save or restor
 e the vision of those with Usher Syndrome type 1F. Since its inception in 
 December 2013\, we have funded almost $2 million in promising research and
  inspired another $2 million in research with the goal of reaching a clini
 cal trial in less than ten years. When we began our work\, only one resear
 ch lab had Usher 1F as a future initiative. Thanks to the help of voluntee
 rs and supporters like you\, we now have seven labs actively working on a
